LockOn‑ Restrict Store vs miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSOfor Shopify (2026)
LockOn‑ Restrict Store and miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO are both Shopify apps focused on account access, but they cater to different merchant needs and security priorities. LockOn provides granular control over store content access, allowing merchants to hide products, collections, or entire pages based on various criteria like location, customer tags, or purchase history. It's designed for merchants needing to create exclusive shopping experiences, prevent bot activity, or restrict access to specific content. miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO, on the other hand, focuses on simplifying the login process for both B2C and B2B stores using Single Sign-On (SSO) via integrations with various Identity Providers (IdPs) like Azure, Okta, and Salesforce. This app streamlines login for users and allows merchants to centralize user management through existing IdPs. It’s particularly valuable for stores with a large user base, those targeting enterprise clients with SSO requirements, or those wanting to unify login across multiple platforms.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing granular control over which customers see what content and who can access their store, LockOn‑ Restrict Store is the better choice. It provides flexibility in creating exclusive shopping experiences and preventing unauthorized access. However, merchants dealing with complex user management scenarios, especially in B2B or larger B2C contexts where SSO is required or desired, miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO is the superior option. Its focus on simplifying login and centralizing user authentication offers significant time savings and security benefits. It is the better choice for shops that are B2B or have employee access requirements.
While miniOrange has a higher rating and more reviews, suggesting greater satisfaction among users, the right app depends entirely on the specific access control needs of the Shopify store. LockOn provides more granular control for shops that need to create exclusive experiences, whereas miniOrange is the better choice for SSO requirements.
