Locksmith vs Lucky Orange Heatmaps & Replayfor Shopify (2026)
Locksmith and Lucky Orange Heatmaps & Replay are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Store Management,' but they address very different needs. Locksmith (4.7/5 stars with 293 reviews) focuses on access control and content restriction within a Shopify store, allowing merchants to selectively display products, pages, or content to specific customer segments or based on certain criteria. Lucky Orange Heatmaps & Replay (4.8/5 stars with 792 reviews) provides visual analytics and checkout optimization tools, enabling merchants to understand user behavior on their site through heatmaps, session recordings, and checkout funnel analysis. The primary distinction lies in their objectives: Locksmith aims to control *who* sees what on your store, while Lucky Orange focuses on understanding *how* visitors interact with your store to improve conversions. Lucky Orange offers features like session recording, heatmaps, conversion funnels, and even an AI assistant called Discovery to analyze data and provide actionable insights. This makes it a comprehensive tool for conversion rate optimization (CRO). Locksmith lacks these analytics and focuses on control and personalization of the customer experience through selective content access. Therefore, the ideal choice heavily depends on the merchant's specific priorities.
