Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery vs Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reelfor Shopify (2026)
Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery and Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reel both enhance visual appeal on Shopify stores, but they cater to different needs. Lookfy focuses on creating versatile image galleries, lookbooks, and portfolios using still images, offering features like product tagging via hotspots, multiple layout options (row, carousel, masonry, etc.), and bulk image uploads. It aims to improve product presentation and storytelling through curated image arrangements. In contrast, Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reel specializes in leveraging video content, particularly short-form videos from platforms like Instagram and TikTok, to create shoppable experiences. It emphasizes automated synchronization, AI-powered product tagging in videos, and lightweight video components for fast loading times. Lookfy is suited for merchants who want full control over their image presentation and want to create visually appealing product stories or build a portfolio showcasing their brand. They likely already have a collection of product and lifestyle imagery. Whatmore is ideal for stores already active on short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels) seeking to automatically integrate that content into their Shopify store to drive engagement and conversions, offering a more hands-off approach to content integration and leveraging trends in video marketing. Whatmore's focus on auto-sync and AI driven tagging reduces manual effort.

Our Verdict
For merchants with a library of high-quality product photos and a desire to create meticulously curated lookbooks and product galleries, Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery is the better choice. Its flexibility in layout and manual tagging offers more control over the final presentation. However, if a merchant is already creating engaging short-form video content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, and wants a seamless way to make those videos shoppable without significant manual effort, Whatmore Shoppable Videos+Reel is the superior option. Whatmore’s automation features and focus on video engagement provide a more efficient and potentially higher-impact solution for driving conversions from social media.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a store with no existing image or video content?
Neither app solves the fundamental problem of content creation. However, Whatmore's auto-sync with social media might be preferable if the merchant plans to create video content on TikTok/Reels anyway.
Does either app impact page speed?
Whatmore explicitly claims 'Zero impact on page speed', while Lookfy doesn't address this directly. Page speed should be a test metric for both apps during setup.
Which app is more suitable for a B2B business?
Lookfy Lookbook explicitly mentions compatibility with B2B features, indicating potentially better support for B2B specific needs. Whatmore doesn't mention B2B.
Can I use both apps on the same Shopify store?
Yes, it's technically possible to use both apps. However, it's crucial to consider the overall user experience and ensure that the visual content is presented in a cohesive and non-overwhelming manner.
Which app offers more control over the visual presentation?
Lookfy Lookbook: Image Gallery offers greater control over the layout and arrangement of images, as well as the ability to manually tag products. Whatmore prioritizes automated synchronization and AI-powered product tagging in videos, which reduces manual control in favor of convenience.
