Loop Returns & Exchanges vs Simply Shipping Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Loop Returns & Exchanges and Simply Shipping Protection both aim to improve the post-purchase experience for Shopify merchants, but they address very different needs. Loop focuses on streamlining and optimizing the entire returns and exchange process, aiming to reduce costs, prevent fraud, and increase customer lifetime value. Its comprehensive feature set targets merchants who want a fully automated, integrated solution for managing returns and exchanges. Simply Shipping Protection, on the other hand, centers around offering customers the option to protect their orders against shipping losses or damages. Simply Shipping Protection focuses on offering shipping protection *before* an issue occurs, allowing merchants to retain all the protection fees and manage claims directly. Loop's features are built around automation and optimization, while Simply Shipping Protection prioritizes control and customization. Loop appears targeted at larger DTC brands with established return volumes, while Simply Shipping Protection can benefit businesses of all sizes seeking direct control over their shipping protection offering.

Our Verdict
For merchants with a significant volume of returns and exchanges who want to automate the entire process, optimize costs, and prevent fraud, Loop Returns & Exchanges is likely the better choice. Its comprehensive features, deep integrations, and focus on increasing LTV through a seamless post-purchase experience make it a powerful tool for established brands. However, for merchants who primarily want to offer shipping protection to their customers and retain complete control over the pricing, placement, and claims process, Simply Shipping Protection is a more suitable option. It's particularly attractive for smaller businesses or those who prefer to handle shipping protection in-house, avoiding third-party insurance companies.
