Loop Subscriptions App vs Upsell & Cross Sell — Selleasyfor Shopify (2026)
Loop Subscriptions App and Upsell & Cross Sell — Selleasy cater to distinct but overlapping needs of Shopify merchants. Loop Subscriptions App focuses on building recurring revenue streams through subscriptions, offering tools for managing the entire subscription lifecycle, from acquisition to retention. It provides features like dynamic discounts, flexible bundles, personalized cancellation flows, and automated workflows. Selleasy, on the other hand, centers around increasing average order value (AOV) through strategic upsells and cross-sells at various points in the customer journey, from product page to post-purchase, leveraging techniques like frequently bought together bundles and related product recommendations. While both apps can contribute to increased revenue, they do so through different mechanisms. Loop aims to cultivate customer loyalty and predictable income, making it suitable for businesses that can effectively offer subscription-based products or services. Selleasy targets immediate AOV boosts on individual transactions, making it valuable for stores with a diverse product catalog looking to maximize each sale through intelligent product recommendations and add-ons. Both apps share the 'Product bundles' category within Shopify, but they approach the concept from different angles: Loop offers subscription bundles, while Selleasy focuses on upsell/cross-sell bundles.

Our Verdict
The choice between Loop Subscriptions App and Upsell & Cross Sell — Selleasy hinges on the merchant's business model and primary revenue goals. If the core strategy involves subscriptions and building long-term customer relationships through recurring revenue, Loop Subscriptions App is the clear winner. Its focus on subscription management, retention tools, and automated workflows directly supports this approach.
Conversely, if the goal is to maximize the value of each individual transaction by encouraging customers to add more items to their cart, Selleasy is the more appropriate choice. Its strength lies in its ability to strategically place upsells and cross-sells at key points in the buying process, resulting in immediate AOV increases. Businesses with a wide range of complementary products or those seeking to quickly boost sales without relying on subscriptions will likely find Selleasy more beneficial.
Common Questions
Does Loop Subscriptions App offer upsell features like Selleasy?
Loop Subscriptions App focuses on subscription bundles and discounts. While it includes offers, its primary function isn't about general upsells like Selleasy's 'frequently bought together' recommendations. It is more focused on upselling within the subscription context.
Can Selleasy help reduce churn like Loop Subscriptions App?
No, Selleasy's primary focus is on increasing AOV during the purchase process. It does not offer features specifically designed to reduce customer churn or retain existing subscribers, unlike Loop's cancellation flows and customer portal.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
While both apps aim to be user-friendly, Selleasy's simpler focus on upsells and cross-sells may make it easier to initially set up. Loop Subscriptions App, with its broader range of features and subscription management capabilities, might require a steeper learning curve to fully utilize its potential.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but careful planning is needed. Selleasy could be used to increase AOV on initial product purchases, while Loop could then convert those customers into subscribers. The key is to ensure that the upsell/cross-sell recommendations don't conflict with the subscription offerings or confuse the customer.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
For a new store without established product relationships or subscription offerings, Selleasy might provide quicker, more tangible results in terms of AOV. Loop is a better fit once the business has a proven product line suitable for subscriptions and a desire to build recurring revenue.
