Loop Subscriptions App vs Upsell Engine by Squarefor Shopify (2026)
Loop Subscriptions App and Upsell Engine by Square both aim to increase revenue for Shopify merchants. However, their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. Loop Subscriptions App is positioned as a comprehensive, all-in-one subscription management solution. It focuses on turning one-time buyers into loyal subscribers with features like dynamic discounts, flexible bundles, cancellation flows, and automated workflows. It aims to help fast-growing brands scale their subscription business. Upsell Engine by Square, on the other hand, as inferred from its name, likely focuses more on upselling and potentially bundling (as it shares the product bundles category). The available data is very limited. The major difference between the apps is the volume of social proof. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a comprehensive subscription management platform with robust features for bundles, cancellation flows, and payment recovery, Loop Subscriptions App is the clear choice. Its large number of positive reviews provides significant social proof. Given that the Upsell Engine by Square has only 1 review and very little feature detail, it's difficult to recommend without more information. It might be suitable for merchants needing only basic upselling functionality, but this cannot be definitively stated with the provided data.
Merchants who need a full-fledged subscription solution should select Loop Subscriptions App. Those seeking potentially simpler upselling tools may explore Upsell Engine by Square, but should proceed with caution due to the lack of reviews and detailed feature information.
