Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing increased conversion rates and building trust through social proof, Loox - Visual Product Reviews is the stronger choice. Its high rating and extensive feature set focusing on visual reviews and customization make it a valuable tool for enhancing product pages and boosting sales. However, merchants who prioritize environmental responsibility and want to attract eco-conscious consumers should consider Shopify Planet. While its rating is lower and review count is significantly less, its focus on carbon-neutral shipping allows businesses to align with sustainability trends and appeal to a growing segment of shoppers.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on the merchant's specific goals and target audience. If the primary focus is on sales and conversion optimization through social proof, Loox is the clear winner. If the primary focus is on sustainability and attracting eco-conscious customers, Shopify Planet is a viable option, but merchants should also investigate competitor apps within the sustainability space to ensure they choose the best-reviewed and most feature-rich offering. Note: the stark rating difference between the apps is worth investigating. This could be due to functionality issues, customer support problems, or a misalignment with the app's marketing.
