Loyal • Customer Segments vs SupaEasy: AI Functions creatorfor Shopify (2026)
Loyal • Customer Segments and SupaEasy: AI Functions creator cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem, despite sharing the 'Operations' category. Loyal focuses on customer retention and targeted marketing through segmentation, leveraging data-driven insights and Klaviyo integration. Its strength lies in automatically tagging and categorizing customers based on their loyalty behavior (recency, frequency, monetary value), thereby enabling personalized email campaigns and experiences. SupaEasy, on the other hand, is a solution for Shopify merchants, especially those with Shopify Plus, looking to customize their checkout experience using Shopify Functions, which are replacing Shopify Scripts. SupaEasy's primary value proposition is providing an accessible way to generate discounts, shipping, payment, and validation functions without requiring coding expertise. The app stands out with its AI assistant, which translates textual descriptions of desired functionality into working functions. While Loyal emphasizes marketing optimization, SupaEasy empowers merchants to take granular control over the technical aspects of their checkout process. While both apps have a perfect 5/5 rating, SupaEasy boasts a significantly higher number of reviews (162 vs 10), indicating a larger user base and potentially wider adoption.

Our Verdict
The choice between Loyal • Customer Segments and SupaEasy: AI Functions creator hinges on the merchant's priorities. If the goal is to enhance customer retention through targeted marketing and personalized experiences, Loyal is the clear winner. Its integration with Klaviyo and automatic customer tagging streamline the process of creating data-driven campaigns. However, if the merchant requires advanced customization of the checkout process, particularly concerning discounts, shipping, payments, or validation, SupaEasy is the superior option. It bridges the technical gap, making Shopify Functions accessible to those without coding skills, and it especially assists merchants migrating from deprecated Scripts.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for someone with no coding experience?
Both apps are designed for users without coding skills. Loyal • Customer Segments is more straightforward as it focuses on segmentation and email marketing integration. SupaEasy uses AI to generate functions, which can involve more complex concepts, but simplifies the process.
Does Loyal • Customer Segments work with other email marketing platforms besides Klaviyo?
The app description explicitly mentions integration with Klaviyo. While theoretically possible to export the segmented customer data and import it into other platforms, the app is optimized for Klaviyo. For other platforms, manual integration might be necessary.
Is SupaEasy limited to Shopify Plus merchants?
While SupaEasy is particularly helpful for Shopify Plus merchants (especially those migrating from Scripts), its description states it's for 'every Shopify plan'. It allows all Shopify merchants to create more advanced checkout functions, but the functions themselves have limitations depending on the plan.
How can Loyal • Customer Segments increase sales?
Loyal • Customer Segments increases sales by allowing merchants to identify their most valuable customers and target them with personalized marketing campaigns, leading to increased customer lifetime value and repeat purchases. Segmenting customers ensures the right message reaches the right person at the right time.
What happens when Shopify releases new features related to customer segmentation or checkout customization?
Both app developers will likely need to adapt their apps to integrate with the new Shopify features. It's important to check the app changelogs and reviews for updates and compatibility information. Contact the developers directly with any compatibility concerns.
