Loyal • Customer Segments vs Zigpoll Customer Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
Loyal • Customer Segments and Zigpoll Customer Surveys, while both operating within the Operations and Analytics categories on Shopify, serve distinctly different purposes. Loyal • Customer Segments focuses on leveraging existing customer data (recency, frequency, monetary value) to segment and target customers for improved retention and targeted marketing, primarily through integrations with email marketing platforms like Klaviyo. It automates customer tagging and provides a weekly email summary to track customer base changes. Its value proposition lies in maximizing the potential of existing customers through personalized experiences. Zigpoll Customer Surveys, on the other hand, is centered around actively gathering customer feedback through customizable surveys deployed across various touchpoints (post-purchase, pre-purchase, on-site, email, SMS). It emphasizes ease of use with no-code setup and integrates with Shopify and other marketing tools. Zigpoll leverages AI analytics to interpret the collected data and provides insights for optimizing business roadmaps, marketing spend, and conversion rates. Its strength lies in proactively acquiring zero-party data and using it to understand customer needs and pain points. The difference is Loyal focuses on RFM analysis for email campaigns, while Zigpoll emphasizes active data collection with surveys and AI-driven analysis.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to enhance customer retention and tailor marketing campaigns based on existing customer data (RFM analysis), Loyal • Customer Segments is the more suitable choice. Its integration with Klaviyo and automatic customer tagging streamlines the process of creating personalized experiences for high-value segments. However, the low review count might warrant caution. If, instead, you're prioritizing actively gathering customer feedback and leveraging AI-powered analytics to understand customer needs and optimize various aspects of your business, Zigpoll Customer Surveys is the better option. Its higher number of reviews suggests greater market adoption and potentially more reliable performance. Zigpoll is ideal for merchants who want to proactively understand their customers' experiences and pain points.
Ultimately, the best app depends on your specific needs and priorities. If you already have a substantial amount of customer data and primarily want to improve retention via targeted email campaigns, Loyal may be a good fit. If you're looking to actively collect customer feedback and gain deeper insights into your customers' needs, Zigpoll is the clear winner.
