Lyve: Shoppable Video & UGC vs Sunny ‑ Blog Comment Managerfor Shopify (2026)
Lyve: Shoppable Video & UGC and Sunny ‑ Blog Comment Manager are both Shopify apps that fall under the 'Content' category, but they address vastly different needs. Lyve is a video commerce platform designed to help merchants leverage the power of video for sales and customer engagement. It focuses on adding shoppable videos to various channels, including the store, emails, SMS, and even the Shop App. In contrast, Sunny is a streamlined blog comment management tool, enabling merchants to efficiently manage and respond to comments directly via email, with a built-in spam blocker. Lyve aims to enhance product discovery and conversions by incorporating video into the customer journey, targeting merchants who want to create engaging content and leverage user-generated content (UGC). Sunny, on the other hand, aims to simplify blog comment moderation, saving time and effort for merchants who prioritize blog engagement for SEO and customer interaction. The apps cater to different operational priorities: Lyve focuses on proactive content creation and sales generation, while Sunny focuses on reactive community management.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to significantly enhance their marketing strategy by incorporating shoppable video and UGC across multiple channels, Lyve is the superior choice. Its AI-powered personalization and integration with platforms like TikTok and Instagram make it a powerful tool for driving sales through engaging video content. However, Lyve likely requires more investment in content creation and technical setup.
Sunny is the better option for merchants who want a simple and efficient way to manage blog comments without having to constantly log into the Shopify admin. If blog engagement is a core part of your SEO and customer communication strategy, Sunny's email-based management and spam filtering offer a practical solution. Its lower rating and smaller review count, however, indicate potential limitations or areas for improvement.
