Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell vs PayRules: Hide Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell and PayRules: Hide Payment Methods both address Cash on Delivery (COD) needs on Shopify, but cater to fundamentally different aspects. Madgic Order focuses on *optimizing* the COD checkout experience to increase conversions through customizable forms, partial payments, COD fees, and abandoned cart recovery. It aims to create a smooth, engaging, and potentially more profitable COD process. PayRules, on the other hand, provides control over which payment methods are displayed to customers. PayRules addresses the need to conditionally hide payment methods based on various rules, which can be beneficial for merchants wanting more granular control over payment options offered. Madgic Order appears to be more comprehensive for merchants heavily reliant on COD and wanting to maximize its potential, while PayRules seems best suited for merchants needing specific payment method visibility rules, possibly for compliance reasons or to optimize for certain customer segments. Madgic's feature set indicates a focus on conversion rate optimization within the COD process, while PayRules emphasizes control and flexibility in payment method presentation.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing an optimized and feature-rich COD checkout experience – particularly those focused on increasing conversions, capturing more customer data during the COD process, and accepting partial payments – Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell is likely the better choice. Its comprehensive feature set aims to make COD more profitable and user-friendly. However, it is important to note that it only has 14 reviews, compared to 76 for PayRules.
