Our Verdict
The choice between MageNative‑Mobile App Builder and Notifications by Modd Apps hinges on a merchant's specific needs. If the primary goal is to create a native mobile app to engage customers, boost conversions through enhanced UX, and leverage push notifications, MageNative is the clear winner. Its drag-and-drop interface makes it accessible to merchants without coding expertise. However, merchants focused on optimizing internal workflows, automating communication with various stakeholders, and implementing complex data updates based on specific triggers will find Notifications by Modd Apps to be the more valuable solution. While it may require some technical knowledge for advanced customization, its potential for streamlining operations is substantial.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up for a non-technical user?
MageNative‑Mobile App Builder is generally easier to set up for non-technical users due to its drag-and-drop interface and pre-built themes. Notifications by Modd Apps, while supported by a responsive team, requires more technical understanding for advanced customization with Liquid and HTML.
Which app is better for increasing sales?
MageNative is more directly focused on increasing sales through its mobile app features, such as faster load times, enhanced browsing, visual features, and targeted push notifications. Notifications by Modd Apps can indirectly contribute to sales by improving customer service and operational efficiency.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
Yes, these apps address different aspects of a Shopify store. MageNative focuses on mobile app development, while Notifications by Modd Apps automates communication and data updates. There shouldn't be direct conflicts between the two.
Which app has better support?
Both apps mention support. MageNative mentions 'support you can always count on', while Notifications by Modd Apps highlights their 'responsive support team'. Without further data, it's difficult to determine definitively which has superior support, but both seem to prioritize customer assistance.
Which app is best for a smaller Shopify store with limited resources?
It depends on the priority. If a mobile app is critical for brand building and reaching mobile customers, MageNative's ease of use is a big plus. However, if operational efficiency and automating notifications is more urgent with limited staff, Notifications by Modd Apps might be a better starting point, assuming some technical proficiency or willingness to learn exists. Consider the trial periods to evaluate ease of use and support responsiveness.
