Magical Custom Fields & Upload vs Rupantar AIfor Shopify (2026)
Magical Custom Fields & Upload and Rupantar AI cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Magical Custom Fields & Upload focuses on enhancing product personalization and order customization through a variety of input field types (text boxes, file uploads, checkboxes, etc.). It aims to increase average order value through upsells and improve order fulfillment by providing more detailed customer information. It targets merchants who want to offer highly customizable products or gather more detailed information at the point of sale and seems ideally suited for subscription box services or bespoke goods. Shopify Plus merchants can also add checkout custom fields. Rupantar AI, on the other hand, concentrates on improving the customer shopping experience and reducing returns in the fashion industry by offering AI-powered virtual try-ons. It aims to increase purchase confidence and engagement by allowing shoppers to virtually 'try on' clothes before purchasing. The most significant difference lies in their core functionality: Magical Custom Fields & Upload is about data collection and customization, while Rupantar AI is about visual representation and purchase confidence. One app directly impacts backend order processing while the other enhances the pre-purchase customer journey. Furthermore, Magical Custom Fields & Upload has a proven track record with a perfect 5/5 rating based on 61 reviews, whereas Rupantar AI is a newer app with no reviews, making it a potentially riskier choice.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking to personalize orders, collect detailed customer information, or offer product options, Magical Custom Fields & Upload is the clear choice. Its established user base and positive reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution. Furthermore, it helps customize subscription boxes and custom designed goods.
However, for fashion retailers specifically, Rupantar AI presents an intriguing option for enhancing the customer experience and reducing return rates. While it currently lacks a proven track record (no reviews), its AI-powered virtual try-on feature addresses a specific pain point in the fashion e-commerce sector. If the merchant wants virtual try-ons for clothes, it is the only option. However, given its lack of reviews, careful consideration and potentially a trial period are warranted before committing to Rupantar AI.
