Magical Fees & Tariffs vs Simply Shipping Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Magical Fees & Tariffs and Simply Shipping Protection address fundamentally different needs for Shopify merchants. Magical Fees & Tariffs focuses on enabling merchants to automatically add and display various fees and surcharges to products and orders, encompassing aspects like credit card fees, deposits, and environmental charges. This app is geared towards merchants requiring granular control over pricing and cost recovery. Simply Shipping Protection, on the other hand, provides a mechanism for merchants to offer shipping protection to customers, allowing them to manage claims directly rather than relying on third-party insurance providers. This empowers merchants to retain control over customer service and revenue related to shipping issues. While both apps are categorized under "Upsell and Bundles - Other," their functionalities diverge significantly. Magical Fees & Tariffs caters to merchants needing to incorporate diverse fees into their pricing structure, providing transparency and compliance. Simply Shipping Protection addresses shipping-related concerns, allowing merchants to monetize protection against loss or damage during transit. The choice between the two depends entirely on whether the merchant's primary need is to manage fees and tariffs or to offer shipping protection and manage associated claims.
