Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing customer relationship management, personalized communication, and a data-driven approach across email and SMS, Mailchimp is the better choice. Its focus on automation and Shopify integration streamlines marketing efforts and provides valuable insights into campaign performance. However, for merchants targeting a younger audience, possessing visually engaging products, and seeking to leverage social trends for rapid growth, TikTok presents a compelling option. TikTok's strength lies in its ability to drive brand awareness and immediate sales through video content and social commerce features.
In some cases, the two apps may complement each other. Using TikTok for initial brand discovery and directing new customers to a Mailchimp-powered email sequence could be an effective full-funnel strategy. The optimal solution depends on the merchant's specific business goals, target audience, and marketing budget.
