Makappi ‑ Mobile App Builder vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Makappi and Shopney are both Shopify mobile app builders promising to convert online stores into native iOS and Android apps without coding. However, they cater to vastly different segments of the market. Makappi, with its limited reviews, seems geared towards smaller merchants or those prioritizing a simple, highly customizable drag-and-drop builder with real-time updates. Its focus is on core functionality like push notifications and one-click checkout, targeting merchants who want a basic app quickly. Shopney, on the other hand, is a more established and feature-rich solution based on its large number of reviews. It emphasizes product merchandising, personalization, integrations, and customer support, targeting merchants with complex needs, potentially larger sales volumes, and a need for scalability.

Our Verdict
Shopney appears to be the stronger option for most merchants, particularly those serious about mobile commerce and seeking a scalable, feature-rich solution with robust support and integrations. The sheer volume of positive reviews indicates a higher level of satisfaction and reliability. However, Makappi might be suitable for very small stores or those prioritizing a highly visual, customizable app building experience and not requiring extensive integrations or complex features. Merchants should weigh the trade-off between ease of use and long-term scalability based on their individual needs and anticipated growth.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Makappi, with its drag-and-drop editor and emphasis on simplicity, likely offers a more intuitive and straightforward app building experience. Shopney, while still claiming no coding is required, might have a steeper learning curve due to its broader range of features and customization options.
Which app offers better customer support?
Shopney explicitly mentions 'one-of-a-kind' customer support. Makappi does not highlight support in its description, suggesting Shopney likely provides a more robust support system, which is further evidenced by the higher number of reviews indicating ongoing customer interaction.
Which app is better for boosting sales?
Shopney directly mentions increasing sales as a key benefit, and its feature set focusing on personalization, merchandising, and integrated apps suggests a stronger focus on conversion optimization. While Makappi mentions increased revenue, it doesn't detail specific features geared towards maximizing sales as comprehensively as Shopney does.
Which app is more scalable for a growing business?
Shopney, with its focus on integrations and customer support, appears to be the more scalable option. Makappi's simplicity may become limiting as a business grows and requires more advanced features and connections to other Shopify apps.
What's the key difference in marketing features?
Both apps highlight push notifications. Makappi emphasizes marketing automation, while Shopney focuses on reducing reliance on paid social ads by improving retention and repeat purchases within the app.
