Our Verdict
Materials Inventory is the clear choice for merchants who manufacture products and need to track raw materials, manage costs, and avoid stockouts. Its focus on bill of materials, purchase orders, and profitability tracking makes it essential for efficient production management. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing, on the other hand, is better suited for merchants looking to optimize sales by automatically adjusting prices based on product performance. If your primary concern is moving inventory and maximizing revenue through pricing strategies, SpurIT Dynamic Pricing could be beneficial. However, the limited number of reviews compared to Materials Inventory should be noted.
Common Questions
Which app is better for preventing overselling?
Materials Inventory is specifically designed to prevent overselling by updating Shopify inventory in real-time based on raw materials and product inventory. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing does not directly address overselling.
Can SpurIT Dynamic Pricing help me manage raw materials?
No, SpurIT Dynamic Pricing focuses exclusively on automatically adjusting product prices based on sales volume. It offers no features for managing raw materials or tracking manufacturing costs.
Does Materials Inventory offer dynamic pricing?
No, Materials Inventory doesn't offer automated dynamic pricing based on sales volume. It focuses on tracking the costs associated with materials, production, and product profitability and managing material inventory levels. It can help inform manual pricing decisions.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Materials Inventory touts being intuitive and easy to use. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing only has 2 reviews so a ease-of-use comparison is difficult. Both apps offer automated features that may reduce manual work in the long run.
If I'm a dropshipper, which app is more relevant?
Neither app is ideally suited for dropshippers. Materials Inventory is designed for manufacturers managing raw materials, and SpurIT Dynamic Pricing relies on sales volume data. A dropshipper likely wouldn't manage raw materials or need volume-based pricing in the same way a manufacturer or traditional retail business would. Other apps focusing on dropshipping inventory and pricing may be more beneficial.
