Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing comprehensive automation across multiple business processes and those comfortable with, or willing to learn, Liquid, Mechanic is the superior choice. Its scalable platform and vast automation library cater to businesses with complex workflows and a need for deep integration. Conversely, ShippingEasy is ideal for businesses whose primary pain point is shipping. Its discounted rates, streamlined process, and customer support make it a compelling option for merchants looking to save time and money on fulfillment, even offering some customer marketing features as a bonus. If you're drowning in shipping logistics, go with ShippingEasy; if you need to automate everything, go with Mechanic.
Common Questions
Does Mechanic offer shipping discounts like ShippingEasy?
The provided information does not indicate that Mechanic offers pre-negotiated shipping discounts like ShippingEasy. Its focus is on workflow automation, not shipping cost reduction.
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical user?
ShippingEasy is likely easier for a non-technical user. Mechanic's reliance on Liquid for custom automations suggests a higher learning curve.
Can I use both Mechanic and ShippingEasy together?
Potentially. Mechanic's automation capabilities could integrate with ShippingEasy to, for example, trigger email updates based on shipping status. However, this would likely require some custom configuration.
Which app is better for customer retention?
ShippingEasy has customer marketing tools directly built in to the platform, making it the better app for customer retention as it can send abandoned cart emails, product reviews, product recommendations, and promotional emails. Mechanic relies on integrations for such functionality.
Which app is more scalable?
Mechanic is explicitly described as an enterprise-grade platform built to scale, making it the more scalable option. ShippingEasy does mention multichannel shipping, suggesting scalability, but not to the same explicitly stated level.
