Members Only Section vs Puco Sections: Theme Sectionsfor Shopify (2026)
Members Only Section and Puco Sections: Theme Sections address different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Members Only Section focuses on content restriction based on customer tags, enabling merchants to create exclusive sections for VIPs, wholesale customers, or other segmented groups. It prioritizes controlling access to specific content blocks within existing page and product templates, relying on custom messages and background customization for a tailored experience. Puco Sections, on the other hand, serves a broader purpose of expanding the functionality and design possibilities of a Shopify store. It offers a library of pre-designed sections and blocks that can be added to any page, aiming to enhance conversion rates and reduce the need for custom coding. It positions itself as a time-saving and cost-effective alternative to hiring developers or using complex page builders. The target audience is merchants seeking to enrich their store's visual appeal and functionality without technical expertise. Given the data, Puco Sections has a stronger presence and social proof. However, the 'Members Only Section' app has a niche focus that might appeal to merchants requiring precise customer-based content restriction.

Our Verdict
Puco Sections: Theme Sections is the stronger option for most merchants based on the available data. The overwhelmingly positive reviews and extensive section library point to a more reliable and versatile solution for enhancing store design. Merchants seeking a broad range of design options and a user-friendly experience should prioritize Puco Sections. The claim of regular section updates also adds value and future-proofs the investment.
However, Members Only Section may be a better fit for merchants with a specific need to restrict access to sections of their store based on customer tags. For example, if a store offers wholesale pricing to specific customers or wants to create VIP-only product collections, then this app would be the better choice, assuming it works as described. But the lack of reviews makes it a risky choice. A merchant should perhaps wait until there's some social proof before installing 'Members Only Section'.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Puco Sections claims ease of use through direct customization in the theme editor and '30s' install time. Members Only Section also sounds easy, but it's hard to be sure without reviews. Puco is likely easier given the 151 positive reviews.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Puco Sections explicitly aims to increase conversion rates with its vast selection of sections and blocks designed for marketing purposes. Members Only Section's impact on conversion rates is less clear and depends on the specific implementation of VIP or wholesale sections.
Which app is better for merchants with no coding experience?
Both apps claim to require no coding. Puco Sections' 200+ pre-designed sections and easy install process make it the better option. Less configuration is required, and a wide library of premade sections exist.
If I need customer specific content, which is better?
Members Only Section is built specifically for this. You can create content sections that are only available for customers with a specific tag assigned to their account.
Which app offers better support?
Puco Sections explicitly mentions they offer support and customizations. Members Only Section makes no such claim, which makes Puco Sections the better, if not only choice.
