Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus vs Negate ‑ Bot Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus and Negate - Bot Protection are both Shopify apps aimed at fraud prevention, but they tackle different aspects of the problem. Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus focuses specifically on payment fraud, aiming to improve the security of transactions within the Mercado Pago ecosystem. It analyzes customer purchase behavior to identify and filter suspicious payments, strengthen security validations, and prevent fraudulent chargebacks. This app is likely targeted towards merchants already using Mercado Pago as their payment gateway and concerned about fraudulent transactions and chargebacks. In contrast, Negate - Bot Protection focuses on preventing bot traffic from negatively impacting marketing efforts and overall website analytics. Negate blocks malicious bots from triggering marketing pixels, thereby cleaning up audience data and preventing ad fraud. It can also redirect bots entirely off the website. This makes it suitable for merchants concerned about inflated marketing costs due to bot activity, skewed analytics data, and potential card fraud stemming from bot-initiated transactions. While both apps offer some level of payment protection, their primary functions and target audiences differ significantly; one addresses payment fraud directly, while the other addresses bot-driven distortions in marketing data and website activity.
