Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus and Subuno both aim to reduce fraudulent transactions and chargebacks on Shopify stores. Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus, with its higher number of reviews, focuses on improving security validations and filtering suspicious payments specifically for transactions made through Mercado Pago, particularly credit/debit cards and Pix. This app appears tailored for merchants heavily reliant on Mercado Pago as their primary payment gateway and seeking to optimize approval rates within that ecosystem. Subuno, on the other hand, positions itself as a more versatile, rules-based fraud prevention platform designed to complement existing processes. Despite having fewer reviews, its key strength lies in its customizability and automation capabilities, allowing merchants to define their own fraud checks without coding and integrate third-party data analytics. Subuno is a better fit for merchants who want a more granular control over their fraud screening process and who may be using a wider range of payment gateways, not exclusively Mercado Pago. The "15+ manual review tools" also point to a more hands-on approach for complex fraud scenarios, compared to the more streamlined focus of Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants who primarily use Mercado Pago and are looking for a streamlined solution to reduce fraudulent transactions specifically within that payment ecosystem, Mercado Pago Antifraud Plus is likely the better choice. Its focus on validating and authorizing card payments within Mercado Pago offers a targeted approach to improving approval rates and preventing chargebacks.
However, if a merchant requires a more customizable and comprehensive fraud prevention system that integrates with multiple payment gateways and offers extensive manual review tools, Subuno presents a superior option. Its rules-based platform allows for fine-grained control over fraud checks and the integration of third-party data, making it suitable for larger or more complex online stores with diverse payment methods and a need for sophisticated fraud detection.
