Mergn vs Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+for Shopify (2026)
Mergn and Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ offer distinct solutions for Shopify merchants in 2026. Mergn positions itself as a comprehensive customer retention marketing platform, focusing on leveraging behavioral data and multi-channel campaigns (Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Push Notifications, Popups) to drive repeat purchases and build loyalty. Its strength lies in its ability to create hyper-targeted customer segments and automate personalized journeys. It appears suited for larger stores prioritizing sophisticated customer retention strategies. Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+, in contrast, emphasizes boosting Average Order Value (AOV) and building trust through features like customer reviews, upsells, and trust badges. It provides various upsell options, including one-click upsells, frequently bought together offers, and volume discounts. It targets merchants looking to increase sales through enhanced product discovery and social proof, without necessarily focusing as heavily on long-term retention or multi-channel campaign management. Its ease of use is implied through the mention of 'natural and effective upsell experiences', making it potentially suitable for smaller or newer stores.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Mergn and Squid depends heavily on a merchant's priorities. If the primary goal is to deeply understand customer behavior, automate personalized multi-channel journeys, and maximize long-term customer retention, Mergn, despite the lack of initial reviews, is the better fit, assuming it delivers on its promises. However, merchants looking for a more immediate impact on sales and AOV through trust-building elements like reviews, badges, and upsells, combined with apparent ease of use, should opt for Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+.
Given the complete lack of reviews for Mergn, it's difficult to recommend it without caution. Squid, with its positive rating and reviews, presents a less risky option for merchants prioritizing AOV and trust.
