Our Verdict
Metafields Guru is the clear choice for Shopify merchants who need to extend the functionality of their storefront by using custom data. It's for those who want to add detailed product specifications, downloadable files, or dynamic content without coding. The ability to import/export and back up data is crucial for shops focused on building rich product pages. On the other hand, Pro:Tagger excels for merchants prioritizing customer segmentation and operational efficiency. If you want to automatically tag customers based on their purchases, behaviour, or other triggers, Pro:Tagger is the more suitable tool. If your priority is to make your store look and perform better by adding more data about your products, then Metafields Guru is the best choice. However, the significant difference in the number of reviews suggests Metafields Guru is a more established and battle-tested app.
