Our Verdict
For merchants who need to extend their product data model and display custom information (specifications, downloads, etc.) without touching code, Metafields Guru is the clear choice. Its features for bulk editing, exporting, and importing metafields, combined with its browser extension, provide significant power and flexibility.
However, if the primary concern is efficiently managing pricing and product data during sales campaigns, Sami Bulk Price Editor is the better option. The ability to schedule price changes, automatically revert to original prices, and adjust prices based on percentages or fixed amounts directly addresses the needs of merchants running frequent promotions. While Metafields Guru has more reviews, the feature sets of each app align well with specific merchant needs.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to learn?
Sami Bulk Price Editor likely has a shorter learning curve due to its focused feature set and intuitive workflow for price adjustments. Metafields Guru, with its broader feature set and focus on metafield management, may require more initial investment to understand metafields and how to use them effectively.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but the benefit may be limited. Metafields Guru can store sale start/end dates as metafields. However, Sami Bulk Price Editor doesn't appear to directly integrate with metafields, so the sale dates stored in Metafields Guru might need manual extraction and application to Sami Bulk Price Editor, diminishing the potential synergy.
Which app is better for larger stores?
Both apps likely scale well, but Metafields Guru's bulk editing and export/import features could be more beneficial for managing large product catalogs with complex data. Sami Bulk Price Editor's product filtering also benefits larger stores, allowing users to target specific collections for price changes.
Does either app offer direct integrations with other marketing platforms?
The descriptions don't mention direct integrations. Metafields Guru mentions 'Google/Facebook data,' implying metafields *can store* data pulled from these platforms, but there's no built-in integration. Sami Bulk Price Editor doesn't reference any integrations.
What kind of support do these apps offer?
The provided data doesn't give information about their customer support features or offerings.
