Metafields Manager vs Mport ‑ Bulk Metafield Importfor Shopify (2026)
Metafields Manager and Mport - Bulk Metafield Import both aim to simplify metafield management on Shopify, but they differ significantly in scope and validation. Metafields Manager is positioned as a comprehensive solution for managing metafields across various Shopify entities (Products, Articles, Blogs, Collections, Pages, and Globally), offering a user-friendly dashboard and robust import/export capabilities, including CSV support and optional AWS S3 hosting. Its strong positive rating and existing user base suggest a reliable and well-received product. Mport - Bulk Metafield Import, on the other hand, focuses specifically on product metafields. It emphasizes ease of use for bulk import and export using CSV files, referencing similarity to the product import format. However, its lack of reviews and a zero rating raise concerns about its reliability and functionality. The focus on SKU or Handle-based import/export suggests it targets merchants comfortable working directly with product identifiers and CSV files. While both apps support CSV-based import/export, Metafields Manager provides a broader scope, covering more entity types and boasting an established reputation, whilst Mport is product-centric, unproven, and might suit advanced users willing to take a risk on a newer app.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, Metafields Manager presents a safer and more robust choice due to its proven track record, positive reviews, and broader feature set. Its support for multiple Shopify entities and the option to host data on AWS S3 offer greater flexibility and scalability. Merchants who need metafield management across their entire store will benefit greatly.
However, if a merchant *exclusively* needs to manage product metafields and is comfortable with SKU/Handle-based CSV manipulation, Mport - Bulk Metafield Import *could* be considered, but with extreme caution given the complete lack of user feedback. This app is only a potentially viable option if the merchant is willing to thoroughly test it and risk encountering unforeseen issues. The risk inherent with a zero-review app currently outweighs the potential benefits compared to a mature, well-regarded option.
