Our Verdict
For merchants selling products like wallpaper or fabric where the price is directly tied to size or quantity, MH Smart Size Price Calculator is the clear choice. The ability for customers to instantly see the price for their desired dimensions and visualize the product is a major advantage. The existing positive reviews, albeit limited, support its functionality.
For businesses involved in custom or bulk sales, particularly in a B2B context, WBL ‑ Request a Quote is the more suitable option. It enables personalized interactions and negotiations, essential for closing complex deals. While it lacks reviews at the moment, the focus on facilitating the quote request process directly addresses the needs of merchants requiring a more tailored sales approach. Merchants should consider the lack of user feedback before implementation and thoroughly test to ensure it meets their needs.
Common Questions
What if I sell products that require both dimension-based pricing AND custom quote requests?
Neither app directly supports both functionalities within a single product. You would need to choose the app that best addresses the primary pricing model for your products. Consider using a combination of strategies, such as using MH Smart Size Price Calculator for basic size-based pricing and offering a separate 'Contact Us' option for complex custom requests. Exploring additional apps or custom development might be necessary for complete integration.
How easily can I integrate these apps into my existing Shopify theme?
MH Smart Size Price Calculator offers direct integration on product pages, suggesting a relatively seamless integration process. WBL ‑ Request a Quote's integration primarily involves managing quotes within the Shopify admin. Theme compatibility will depend on the specific theme and app coding. Checking the apps' documentation or contacting their support teams is recommended to verify compatibility.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
MH Smart Size Price Calculator is likely to have a greater impact on conversion rates for products where size or quantity is the main price driver. Instant price visibility reduces friction in the buying process. WBL - Request a Quote focuses on a more high-touch sales process, which might not directly improve conversion rates but could increase the average order value and customer lifetime value.
What are the potential drawbacks of using WBL ‑ Request a Quote with no user reviews?
The primary risk is the lack of validation from other users. There's a higher chance of encountering bugs, integration issues, or a suboptimal user experience. Thorough testing and careful monitoring after installation are crucial to ensure the app functions as expected and meets your business requirements.
Can either app handle complex pricing calculations that go beyond simple dimensions or quantity?
MH Smart Size Price Calculator's description implies customization is possible, suggesting it can be tailored to accommodate more complex pricing formulas. However, this relies on their team's ability to implement those customizations. WBL ‑ Request a Quote is designed for negotiated pricing, so it inherently handles complexity by allowing manual adjustments and tailored offers.
