Migrate Store ‑ Wix Woo Square vs Product XML Import by ProXIfor Shopify (2026)
Migrate Store - Wix Woo Square and Product XML Import by ProXI both aim to simplify product management for Shopify merchants, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. Migrate Store focuses on *platform migration*, allowing merchants to move entire stores and their data (products, customers, orders, etc.) from other platforms like Wix, WooCommerce, and Square *to* Shopify. It offers a one-time migration service with post-migration support. Product XML Import by ProXI, on the other hand, specializes in ongoing *product data management* within Shopify. It helps merchants, especially those doing dropshipping, to import and keep product information (stock, price, descriptions) updated via XML feeds. While Migrate Store is geared towards merchants initially setting up their Shopify store or switching from another platform, Product XML Import by ProXI caters to established Shopify stores that need to regularly update large product catalogs from external sources. Migrate Store offers a wider range of data migration and a demo for up to 100 entities, but lacks continuous synchronization features beyond Shopify -> Wix. ProXI excels at real-time synchronization and offers a preview feature before bulk importing, prioritizing dynamic inventory and pricing management. Each appeals to different pain points in a merchant's journey.

Our Verdict
Choose Migrate Store ‑ Wix Woo Square if you're moving your entire store from another platform to Shopify. The app handles a wide range of data, including customers and orders, and offers initial support. However, the low review count makes it difficult to fully assess reliability. For Shopify merchants already established but struggling with constantly updating product catalogs, especially with dropshipping, Product XML Import by ProXI is the better option. Its real-time XML synchronization and preview features directly address inventory management needs.
Given the information provided, if long-term product data management is the core requirement, Product XML Import by ProXI has a stronger value proposition. If, however, a one-off store migration is needed, Migrate Store provides the functionality, though further research into reliability and support responsiveness is advisable.
Common Questions
Which app is best for moving from Wix to Shopify?
Migrate Store ‑ Wix Woo Square is designed specifically for migrating from platforms like Wix, making it the more direct choice. Product XML Import by ProXI is not designed for full platform migrations.
Does Migrate Store offer ongoing inventory synchronization?
Migrate Store offers a Shopify -> Wix inventory sync (alpha), but isn't designed for ongoing synchronization between Shopify and the original migrated platform. ProXI has full syncing.
Is Product XML Import by ProXI suitable for merchants with small product catalogs?
While Product XML Import by ProXI can be used for smaller catalogs, its strength lies in efficiently managing and synchronizing *large* product catalogs via XML feeds. The app might be overkill for very small stores with manually updated inventories.
How do the apps handle product variants?
Migrate Store explicitly mentions support for product variants during the migration process. Product XML Import by ProXI indicates support for multiple variant images and general XML import which implies variant handling, but doesn't detail specific variant management features.
Which app provides better support?
Migrate Store offers 6 months of post-migration support, while Product XML Import by ProXI emphasizes a 'strong support team'. Both suggest dedicated support, but assessing the quality of support would require further investigation, like checking independent reviews or contacting support directly.
