miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO vs miniOrange Social Loginfor Shopify (2026)
miniOrange offers two distinct Shopify apps focusing on account login: Single Sign On (SSO) and Social Login. miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO caters to businesses needing robust and secure authentication using existing Identity Providers (IdPs) like Azure AD, Okta, and custom solutions. It's geared towards B2C and B2B stores, especially those with employee or privileged access needing centralized control. It offers features like user attribute synchronization, single logout, and support for diverse login methods (corporate SSO, OTP, etc.). Its high rating (5/5) and larger number of reviews (49) suggest a positive user experience and reliability. In contrast, miniOrange Social Login focuses on simplifying the login process for customers by allowing them to use their existing social media accounts like Facebook, Google, and Twitter. It emphasizes ease of setup and integration with Shopify's Horizon theme. This app seems targeted towards a broader audience seeking to reduce friction in the customer login process. However, its significantly lower rating (2.7/5) and fewer reviews (12) raise concerns about its usability or feature effectiveness compared to the SSO app.

Our Verdict
For Shopify Plus merchants or businesses requiring secure, centralized control over user access using existing Identity Providers, miniOrange Single Sign On‑SSO is the clear choice despite the potentially more complex setup. Its higher rating and wider range of features tailored to B2B/B2C with internal/external access needs offer significant advantages. The features like user attribute sync and single logout cater well to more complex organizations.
On the other hand, miniOrange Social Login might be suitable for smaller businesses or stores prioritizing ease of use and rapid deployment of social login options. However, the low rating raises concerns, suggesting merchants should carefully evaluate its functionality and support before committing. If ease of use trumps security and managed access, and the negative reviews are addressed, Social Login could be suitable. Otherwise, the SSO solution appears to be the stronger option overall.
