MIT Payment Hider vs Supercyclefor Shopify (2026)
MIT Payment Hider and Supercycle, while both categorized under "Payment options - Other" in the Shopify app store, address drastically different needs. MIT Payment Hider focuses on refining the checkout experience by controlling the visibility of payment methods based on various cart and customer conditions. Its core strength lies in providing granular control over payment presentation, allowing merchants to tailor the payment options to specific customer segments, geographical locations, or order values. This is suited for merchants seeking to optimize their payment gateway offerings and improve conversion rates by simplifying the checkout process. It, however, has no reviews and a zero rating, which makes it hard to trust. Supercycle, on the other hand, is a comprehensive circular commerce platform designed for businesses dealing with rentals, resale, and subscriptions. Its strength lies in managing inventory with serial numbers and offering functionalities for rental extensions, damage charges, and recurring billing. Supercycle facilitates the adoption of circular business models, allowing merchants to offer flexible payment options and manage item lifecycles effectively. It is a specialized tool for merchants wanting to expand into rental, resale, or subscription business models. The app has very few reviews but a perfect rating, suggesting early user satisfaction.

Our Verdict
MIT Payment Hider is most suitable for merchants looking to fine-tune their existing payment gateway setup. Its conditional logic allows for personalized payment experiences, but the lack of reviews makes it a risky choice. Merchants struggling with checkout abandonment due to payment method clutter might find it beneficial – assuming the debugging tools work.
Supercycle is the clear choice for merchants exploring circular commerce models. If you are already renting, reselling, or offering subscriptions or plan to do so, its inventory management and payment features make it a valuable tool. While the number of reviews are limited, a perfect score suggests positive experiences from the early users. A merchant should choose Supercycle if they need a full-featured circular commerce platform as compared to simply fine tuning payment options.
