Our Verdict
Singleton | Advanced Discounts, based on available data, appears to be a more established and positively reviewed app. It's a safer bet for most Shopify merchants looking to implement discount strategies. MIT Request Quote & Hide Price, while potentially valuable for specific business models, carries a significant risk due to the lack of reviews. Merchants considering it should proceed with caution and thoroughly test its functionality before relying on it. If your business relies on custom quotes or has products with highly variable prices, and you are willing to be an early adopter, MIT Request Quote may be worth a test, but be prepared for potential issues.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the ratings and reviews, Singleton | Advanced Discounts is likely easier to set up. MIT Request Quote's lack of reviews leaves its ease of use unknown.
Which app is better for wholesale customers?
Singleton | Advanced Discounts directly supports discounts for wholesale or B2B partner groups. MIT Request Quote can potentially be used to hide prices from regular customers and only offer quotes to wholesale customers via other communication methods, but isn't specifically designed for this.
Which app focuses on lead generation?
MIT Request Quote & Hide Price focuses on lead generation by collecting pricing inquiries. Singleton | Advanced Discounts focuses on driving sales conversions directly.
Which app offers more customization options?
MIT Request Quote & Hide Price allows custom HTML to replace the price, which could be more versatile. However, Singleton | Advanced Discounts offers customization through discount widgets and icons, affecting the visual presentation of discounts.
If I need both discounts and quote requests, can I use both apps?
Potentially, but careful planning and testing are crucial to ensure they don't conflict. Hiding prices entirely and offering discounts might confuse customers. A better approach might be to use discounts strategically while only hiding prices on specific products that require custom quotes, and A/B test to determine optimal results.
