mNotify BMS SMS Notification vs Notifications by Modd Appsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between mNotify BMS SMS Notification and Notifications by Modd Apps face a stark contrast. mNotify BMS SMS Notification, despite its promise of effortless SMS communication and specific focus on overcoming limited coverage in regions like Africa, suffers from a critical lack of user validation, indicated by a 0/5 rating and zero reviews. Its value proposition centers around customized SMS templates and ease of use. On the other hand, Notifications by Modd Apps is a well-established app with a perfect 5/5 rating based on 35 reviews. It focuses on broader notification capabilities, including customizable emails, file sending, and the ability to modify store objects using complex logic and Liquid support. Notifications by Modd Apps targets merchants requiring advanced automation and complex workflows, particularly those who want to send notifications to various stakeholders (staff, suppliers, customers) based on intricate conditions and even update store objects. In contrast, mNotify BMS SMS Notification seemingly targets merchants primarily focused on SMS communication, especially those needing to reach customers in regions with limited SMS coverage. However, the lack of social proof and reviews makes it a risky choice compared to the established Notifications by Modd Apps.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, Notifications by Modd Apps is the safer and likely better choice. Its established reputation, demonstrated by its high rating and numerous reviews, makes it a trustworthy option. The powerful automation capabilities, including the ability to send emails, files, and modify store objects using complex logic, cater to a wide range of merchant needs. While mNotify BMS SMS Notification may appeal to merchants specifically focused on SMS communication, particularly in regions like Africa with limited SMS coverage, the complete absence of reviews makes it too risky to recommend without further evidence of its functionality and reliability. Merchants considering mNotify BMS SMS Notification should proceed with extreme caution, prioritizing thorough testing and validation if a trial period is available.
