Mobile App Banner ‑ Shopney vs WAX: marketing on WhatsAppfor Shopify (2026)
Mobile App Banner - Shopney and WAX: marketing on WhatsApp both have excellent 5/5 ratings in the Shopify app store as of 2026, however, they serve drastically different purposes. Mobile App Banner - Shopney focuses on prompting website visitors to download a native mobile app, while WAX is a WhatsApp marketing platform designed to leverage conversational commerce and customer retention via personalized messages. The low review counts for both apps suggest they may be relatively new or niche offerings, making a deep dive into the app's features and compatibility with your existing tech stack critical. Wax differentiates itself by focusing on building customer relationships through WhatsApp. It provides tools for creating marketing campaigns, automating customer journeys, and direct customer communication, emphasizing high open rates and response rates to drive sales. Given its GDPR compliance, it aims for a trustworthy and privacy-conscious approach. Mobile App Banner targets businesses that believe a dedicated mobile app offers a significantly better customer experience and potentially higher conversion rates. Our Verdict
Choosing between these apps depends entirely on your business strategy. If you believe that a native mobile app is crucial for your business and are prepared to invest in its development and promotion, Mobile App Banner - Shopney could be a worthwhile tool. However, if you are focusing on customer engagement and retention via messaging, and you are comfortable using WhatsApp as a primary channel, WAX: marketing on WhatsApp is the clear choice.
WAX appears to offer a more comprehensive marketing solution, providing tools to automate customer journeys, track performance, and integrate live chat for better customer support. For businesses looking to increase sales and retention through targeted, personalized communication, WAX is likely the stronger option. The slightly higher review count for Mobile App Banner suggests it may have a slightly larger user base but the difference is negligible and isn't necessarily indicative of it being the better application, with the decision boiling down to a business's strategic focus on mobile app usage vs WhatsApp engagement.
