Mobile App Banner ‑ Shopney vs WhatsApp by Klinkofor Shopify (2026)
Mobile App Banner ‑ Shopney and WhatsApp by Klinko are both Shopify apps targeting marketing, but they serve distinctly different purposes. Shopney focuses on promoting the merchant's mobile app, presumably through banners and potentially other app-related marketing strategies. WhatsApp by Klinko, on the other hand, is all about leveraging WhatsApp for automated customer communication based on key store events. Shopney aims to drive app downloads and usage, while Klinko aims to enhance customer engagement and drive sales through direct WhatsApp messaging. The key difference lies in their core functionality. Shopney's value proposition centers around promoting and driving traffic to a mobile app. In contrast, WhatsApp by Klinko delivers automated, personalized customer service and sales prompts through WhatsApp. Based on the available data, Klinko enables notifications for abandoned carts, order creation, payment confirmation, order shipment, and order cancellation, all delivered via WhatsApp. This positions Klinko as a tool for improving customer retention and potentially recovering lost sales. Shopney likely has features tailored to mobile app marketing, although specifics are not provided.

Our Verdict
WhatsApp by Klinko is a more appealing solution for merchants focusing on direct customer engagement and sales recovery through automated WhatsApp messages. The described features directly address common pain points such as abandoned carts and provide timely order updates. Mobile App Banner ‑ Shopney is more niche, best suited for merchants who have already invested in developing a dedicated mobile app and are actively seeking to promote it.
Due to the significantly higher number of reviews and implied more specific feature set described for Klinko, it appears to be the stronger candidate for most Shopify merchants in 2026, unless they are solely focused on mobile app promotion. If a merchant doesn't have a mobile app, Shopney is irrelevant. However, for merchants using both a mobile app and looking to improve customer engagement, it might be worth exploring the integration of both tools to maximize marketing and communication potential.
