Our Verdict
The choice between these apps hinges entirely on the merchant's business needs. Mobile App Builder ‑ Apptile is ideal for businesses prioritizing a mobile-first strategy and seeking to offer a comprehensive app experience to their customers. The AI-driven approach simplifies app development and offers features like push notifications and live selling. Picture It: AR & Art Previews, on the other hand, is a niche solution designed for businesses selling art, prints, or home decor. Its AR capabilities directly address the challenge of visualizing artwork in a customer's home, potentially leading to increased sales and customer satisfaction. If you are selling art, Picture It is the clear winner; otherwise, Apptile is relevant for a broader range of e-commerce businesses.
Common Questions
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, yes, but their functionalities are largely independent. A merchant could use Apptile to create a mobile app and then find a way to integrate Picture It's AR capabilities within that app if the mobile platform allows custom code insertion, although direct integration isn't explicitly stated as a feature of either app.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps advertise ease of use. Apptile emphasizes its AI-driven, codeless approach, suggesting a simplified app creation process. Picture It highlights that no 3D models or coding are needed for AR previews, implying a straightforward setup for integrating AR into product pages. It likely depends on the specific use-case of the merchant.
Which app has the potential to generate higher revenue?
It depends on the business model. For an art retailer, Picture It has a better chance of direct sales impact by increasing customer confidence. Apptile aims for broader sales impact through mobile app adoption but relies on the mobile app experience to drive those sales.
How do these apps handle product variants?
Picture It explicitly mentions automatically importing dimensions, frames, and variant styles, suggesting it handles variants seamlessly within its AR previews. Apptile does not directly address product variant handling in the provided descriptions, although it's likely configurable within the app building process, assuming standard Shopify integration for product details.
Are there hidden costs associated with either app?
The descriptions don't explicitly mention hidden costs. However, it's always prudent to review the app's pricing plan and terms of service within the Shopify App Store to understand potential charges for features, usage limits, or tiers of service.
