Modular Blocks: Theme Sections vs Puco Sections: Theme Sectionsfor Shopify (2026)
Both 'Modular Blocks: Theme Sections' and 'Puco Sections: Theme Sections' aim to enhance Shopify stores by providing customizable theme sections. 'Puco Sections' positions itself as a comprehensive solution to overcome theme limitations, boasting a large library of pre-designed sections and ease of use, catering to merchants who want extensive customization without coding or hiring developers. 'Modular Blocks', on the other hand, focuses on adding specific interactive elements like animated buttons, size guides, and popups. A key difference is the scale of offerings: Puco provides over 200 sections, while Modular Blocks focuses on a smaller set of specialized block types. 'Puco Sections' targets entrepreneurs who want to quickly expand their store's functionality with minimal effort and prefer a wide selection of pre-built options. Its emphasis on user-friendliness and constant updates suggests it's designed for ongoing improvement and adaptation to marketing needs. 'Modular Blocks', while lacking user reviews, seems to be aimed at merchants who want to improve customer engagement and provide essential product information directly on the product page with a select range of interactive elements. Our Verdict
Based on the available information, 'Puco Sections: Theme Sections' appears to be the stronger choice for most merchants in 2026. Its high rating, substantial number of reviews, extensive section library, and emphasis on user-friendliness make it a more reliable and comprehensive solution. Merchants who need a broad range of customization options and want to avoid coding will find 'Puco Sections' particularly appealing.
'Modular Blocks: Theme Sections' might be suitable for merchants with very specific needs, such as adding animated buttons or size guides, and who are willing to take a risk on an app with no reviews. However, the lack of social proof makes it a less compelling option compared to the well-established and highly-rated 'Puco Sections'. Unless there are clear advantages in the specific block types offered by Modular Blocks that are absent in Puco, Puco Sections is the safer, more versatile bet.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
'Puco Sections' explicitly emphasizes ease of use, claiming sections can be installed in 30 seconds and customized directly in the Theme Editor. 'Modular Blocks' also uses the Theme Editor, suggesting similar simplicity, but without user feedback, it's harder to verify. Puco’s emphasis on being usable without documentation implies greater simplicity.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Both apps aim to improve conversion rates. 'Puco Sections' offers a broader range of sections, potentially enabling a more comprehensive approach to optimization. 'Modular Blocks' focuses on specific elements like animated buttons and popups, which can directly influence purchasing decisions. However, without knowing the quality and relevance of Puco’s various sections, this is difficult to say. Puco’s description explicitly states its sections are ‘built considering marketing needs’ which provides a slight advantage.
Which app is better for a store with a limited budget?
Without pricing information for either app, it's impossible to say definitively. However, 'Puco Sections' positions itself as a cost-saving alternative to hiring developers, suggesting it may be competitively priced. 'Modular Blocks', given its narrower focus, might be cheaper, but its value proposition depends on the specific features it offers and the merchant's needs.
Which app receives more updates?
'Puco Sections' highlights weekly additions of new global sections and product blocks based on demand. There's no mention of update frequency for 'Modular Blocks', making 'Puco Sections' a more appealing option for merchants who want a continually evolving set of features.
Which app is the safer bet?
'Puco Sections' is the safer bet due to its high rating and positive user reviews. The absence of ratings and reviews for 'Modular Blocks' introduces significant risk, as there's no way to verify its functionality or reliability.
