Moose: COD IVR Order Verifier vs Progus COD (Cash on Delivery)for Shopify (2026)
Moose: COD IVR Order Verifier and Progus COD (Cash on Delivery) both address Cash on Delivery (COD) concerns on Shopify, but tackle distinct problems. Moose focuses on *fraud prevention* by automating order verification via IVR calls, aiming to reduce bogus orders. It positions itself as a solution for merchants losing money to fraudulent COD orders from anonymous customers. Progus, conversely, concentrates on *increasing COD sales* by optimizing the COD ordering process. It uses features like 1-click order forms and smart COD rules to reduce friction and encourage more COD purchases. The primary difference lies in their objectives: Moose prioritizes minimizing losses from fake orders, while Progus aims to maximize revenue generated through COD. While both apps offer some level of COD control, Progus provides more granular control over COD visibility based on various factors like location, cart value, and customer groups. Moose, with its IVR confirmation system, adds a layer of verification that Progus lacks, but potentially at the cost of added customer friction. Given the significant difference in reviews (1 vs 4), it's difficult to definitively state one is superior to the other. However, the maturity of Progus's feature set and additional reviews suggest it has been adopted by more users, and therefore might be more tried and tested in 2026.
