MP Digital Downloads vs Xesto Fitfor Shopify (2026)
Both MP Digital Downloads and Xesto Fit are Shopify apps listed under the 'Digital goods and services - Other' category, but they cater to vastly different needs and business models. MP Digital Downloads focuses on enabling merchants to sell digital products such as eBooks, software, and videos by automating secure delivery and download management. It emphasizes ease of use with a no-code approach and provides built-in analytics for tracking performance. Xesto Fit, on the other hand, addresses the challenges of shoe sizing in online retail. It provides a sizing widget, leveraging an iOS app for foot scanning, to improve fit accuracy and potentially reduce returns related to sizing issues. The crucial distinction lies in their target audiences. MP Digital Downloads serves merchants who offer digital content for download. Its value proposition revolves around secure and automated delivery, content protection through usage limits, and a wide variety of supported file types. Conversely, Xesto Fit specifically targets shoe retailers or businesses that sell footwear online. Its core function is to enhance the customer experience by ensuring customers purchase the correct shoe size, thus improving customer satisfaction and reducing return rates. A lack of reviews for both apps limits conclusions on user experience, however.

Our Verdict
Choosing between MP Digital Downloads and Xesto Fit is entirely dependent on the type of products a merchant sells. If a merchant sells digital goods, MP Digital Downloads is the only logical choice, offering a streamlined solution for secure and automated delivery. The built-in analytics also provide valuable insights into customer behavior. The lack of reviews means users should proceed cautiously and test the app thoroughly.
For merchants specializing in footwear, Xesto Fit offers a compelling solution to address the common problem of incorrect shoe sizes. While the dependency on an iOS app for scanning might present a barrier for some users, it provides a technologically advanced approach to improving fit accuracy. Similar to MP Digital Downloads, the lack of reviews necessitates caution and thorough testing before widespread deployment. If shoe retailers are struggling with returns due to sizing, Xesto Fit is worth investigating.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, MP Digital Downloads appears simpler to set up, touting a 'no-code' approach. Xesto Fit requires integration of a widget and potentially relies on user adoption of the iOS scanning app.
Which app provides more analytics?
Both apps offer analytics, but they track different metrics. MP Digital Downloads tracks downloads, sales, and customer behavior related to digital products. Xesto Fit focuses on tracking widget usage and its impact on shoe purchases.
Which app is better for reducing customer support inquiries?
MP Digital Downloads can reduce support inquiries related to accessing digital products post-purchase, while Xesto Fit aims to reduce inquiries and returns related to shoe sizing issues.
What if I sell digital products *and* shoes? Do I need both?
Yes, because the apps solve completely different problems. MP Digital Downloads manages digital asset delivery; Xesto Fit manages shoe sizing. They do not overlap in functionality.
Which app has better long-term potential?
It depends on the market trends. If digital product sales continue to grow, MP Digital Downloads will remain valuable.
