MP ‑ Store Migration & Import vs Porter Metricsfor Shopify (2026)
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import and Porter Metrics both operate within the 'Selling Online' and 'Store Data Importer' categories on Shopify, but they address fundamentally different needs. MP ‑ Store Migration & Import focuses on facilitating the initial migration of store data, presumably from other platforms or backups, into a Shopify store. It boasts a high rating with a substantial number of reviews, suggesting a well-received solution for merchants switching to Shopify or consolidating data. In contrast, Porter Metrics is designed for ongoing data analysis and reporting after a store is established. It specializes in connecting Shopify Sales and Products data to external reporting tools like Google Sheets, enabling merchants to build cross-channel reports and attribution models. While also having a 5/5 rating, the considerably lower review count suggests a smaller user base or a newer app with less market penetration. Its key strength lies in its ability to integrate Shopify data with other marketing and CRM data, making it attractive to merchants focused on data-driven marketing strategies.
