MP ‑ Store Migration & Import vs Sync: Bulk Edit Google Sheetsfor Shopify (2026)
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import and Sync: Bulk Edit Google Sheets, while both earning perfect 5/5 ratings, serve fundamentally different purposes for Shopify merchants. MP ‑ Store Migration & Import, evidenced by its name and 109 reviews, focuses on facilitating store migrations and data imports, suggesting it's aimed at merchants transitioning platforms or requiring bulk data uploads. Sync: Bulk Edit Google Sheets, with only 5 reviews, targets merchants seeking to manage their existing product catalog through the familiar interface of Google Sheets. Its description highlights bulk editing capabilities for prices, SKUs, inventory, titles, and more, directly within Google Sheets. The core distinction lies in their functionality: MP primarily deals with onboarding and initial data setup, whereas Sync tackles ongoing product management. Sync’s key strength is leveraging Google Sheet features like formulas and filters for large-scale product updates. This means Sync is for merchants needing advanced editing capabilities. The discrepancy in review count suggests a more niche appeal for Sync, possibly because it requires a degree of comfort working with spreadsheets, while MP addresses a more common and urgent need during initial store setup or replatforming.

Our Verdict
For merchants undergoing a store migration or requiring an initial bulk data import, MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is likely the more suitable option. Its higher review count hints at broader applicability and potentially simpler usability. However, for established stores with large product catalogs needing frequent and complex updates (price changes, inventory adjustments, etc.), Sync: Bulk Edit Google Sheets offers a powerful, spreadsheet-driven approach. The choice hinges on whether the merchant prioritizes ease of migration/import or sophisticated, ongoing product management capabilities within a spreadsheet environment.
Ultimately, Sync caters to a niche audience comfortable and proficient with Google Sheets who value the flexibility and power of spreadsheets for managing product information. MP addresses the more universal need of store setup and data transfer.
