MultiMail vs ProWebSms Business Messagingfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, both MultiMail and ProWebSms Business Messaging compete within the Staff Notifications and Order Tracking categories on the Shopify app store. MultiMail presents a perfect 5/5 rating, but this is based on a very small sample size of only 2 reviews. ProWebSms Business Messaging boasts a slightly lower rating of 4.7/5, but benefits from a significantly larger number of reviews (9). This suggests a potentially more reliable indication of overall user satisfaction despite the marginally lower score. Without further data about specific features and user experiences, the review count becomes a significant factor in app selection. The primary difference evident from the app names is the medium of communication they emphasize. MultiMail focuses on email-based communication, whereas ProWebSms explicitly highlights SMS (Short Message Service) capabilities. This implies that ProWebSms caters to merchants who prioritize direct, mobile-first engagement, while MultiMail likely uses email for internal notifications and potentially customer-facing communication. The best choice between the two hinges on a merchant's specific communication needs and channel preferences for staff notifications and order tracking updates. Due to the limited data, a complete feature breakdown is challenging. However, it can be inferred that ProWebSms offers immediate, text-based updates, while MultiMail relies on email, which might be better suited for detailed reports or less time-sensitive alerts. Larger merchants might require more scalable SMS communication, making ProWebSms a better fit. Smaller operations, especially those already relying heavily on email, could find MultiMail sufficient.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants needing rapid, direct communication for staff notifications and order tracking, ProWebSms Business Messaging appears to be the stronger choice. The higher number of reviews provides a more stable foundation for trust, and the SMS focus aligns with the immediacy required for many operational alerts. Its likely targeting of larger businesses needing more scalability further solidifies this recommendation.
However, MultiMail could be a cost-effective solution for very small businesses that primarily use email for internal communication and don't require instantaneous updates. The perfect rating, although based on only two reviews, suggests the app fulfills its promise, but a larger sample size is needed for confirmation. Given the limited data, ProWebSms is the safer and more feature-rich bet, especially if SMS communication is a priority.
Common Questions
Which app is better for instant order tracking updates to customers?
ProWebSms, with its SMS focus, would provide near-instant order tracking updates directly to customers' mobile devices. MultiMail, using email, will have a delay.
Which app is more reliable based on user feedback?
ProWebSms is likely more reliable due to having significantly more reviews (9) compared to MultiMail (2). A larger sample size offers a more robust representation of the overall user experience.
Which app is cheaper to use?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to say for sure. However, SMS services often involve per-message costs, suggesting ProWebSms *could* be more expensive depending on usage volume. Email, depending on the service, can be bundled or have lower per-send costs.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
With limited data, ease of use is difficult to assess. More reviews often include comments on ease of setup, so the higher review count of ProWebSms *might* provide more information to discern which is easier, however this is speculation.
If I primarily use email for all my business operations, which app should I choose?
MultiMail would likely be a more natural fit, as it focuses on email notifications. However, carefully consider if SMS updates could drastically improve operational efficiency before dismissing ProWebSms entirely.
Does the higher rating for MultiMail automatically make it better?
No. A higher rating based on a very small number of reviews is statistically less reliable than a slightly lower rating based on a larger number of reviews. ProWebSms likely offers a better-supported and tested experience due to the increased user feedback and usage.
