MutualDropshipping vs MyDesigns: Print on Demandfor Shopify (2026)
MutualDropshipping and MyDesigns: Print on Demand both aim to simplify product sourcing for Shopify merchants, but they cater to distinctly different business models. MutualDropshipping focuses on traditional dropshipping, promising access to winning products at factory prices with automated fulfillment and fast global shipping. Its key strength lies in sourcing pre-made products and streamlining the fulfillment process for merchants who don't want to handle inventory. MyDesigns, on the other hand, is geared towards Print on Demand (POD), empowering merchants to create and sell custom-designed products with bulk mockup generation and effortless personalized product fulfillment. It caters to merchants who value creative control and want to offer unique, personalized items without managing inventory or complex design processes. While both offer sourcing options, the method and outcome differ considerably. MutualDropshipping is about finding products already popular or likely to become popular and selling them. MyDesigns is about creating unique designs and having them printed on products chosen by the merchant. In 2026, both automated fulfillment and product customization are table stakes, but the key differentiator remains: does the merchant want to sell existing products or create unique products on demand? The ideal choice depends on the merchant's business goals and operational preferences.

Our Verdict
If a merchant wants to quickly populate their store with a wide selection of potentially popular, ready-to-sell products and prioritize speed and cost-effectiveness in fulfillment, MutualDropshipping is the stronger choice. The emphasis on 'winning products' and automated fulfillment is geared toward fast scaling and profitability. However, for merchants focused on building a unique brand identity and offering customized products with a high degree of creative control, MyDesigns: Print on Demand is the superior option. The bulk mockup generation and personalized fulfillment directly support a POD business model that prioritizes design and customization over speed of product availability.
While MyDesigns has a slightly higher rating and more reviews, it is important to remember both apps have a limited sample size. Merchants should consider their specific business model first when choosing between these apps: dropshipping existing products vs. print on demand of custom products.
Common Questions
Which app is better for beginners?
MutualDropshipping may be slightly easier for absolute beginners due to its focus on readily available products. However, both apps aim for user-friendliness, so the ideal choice depends on the type of business the beginner wants to start.
Which app offers faster shipping?
MutualDropshipping explicitly advertises 'Fast shipping worldwide' as a key feature. MyDesigns focuses on personalized fulfillment but doesn't mention shipping speed as a primary benefit. However, actual shipping times will depend on the supplier/fulfillment partner used in either case.
Can I use both apps in the same Shopify store?
Potentially, but it's generally not recommended. The business models are quite distinct, and managing both dropshipping and POD products within the same store could complicate inventory management and customer experience. It is better to focus on a specific sourcing option.
Which app provides more control over product pricing?
Both apps provide control over pricing, but the pricing structure differs. MutualDropshipping likely offers a margin over factory prices, while MyDesigns pricing depends on the base product cost and your custom design/printing costs. MyDesigns may give greater control due to custom design, but also greater upfront cost.
Which app is better for building a brand?
MyDesigns: Print on Demand is generally better for building a brand. By offering custom-designed products, merchants can create unique offerings that resonate with their target audience and reinforce their brand identity. MutualDropshipping, while potentially profitable, relies on selling existing products which makes brand differentiation more challenging.
