My Product Registration vs SureBright Product Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
My Product Registration and SureBright Product Protection both operate in the returns and warranty space on Shopify, but cater to fundamentally different merchant needs. My Product Registration focuses on providing merchants with tools to manage their own product registration, warranty claims, and serial numbers directly. It empowers merchants to build after-purchase relationships and manage the entire process in-house. In contrast, SureBright Product Protection offers a third-party managed solution, primarily focused on extended warranties and shipping insurance, providing merchants with a revenue share model and relieving them of the burden of managing claims and financial risks. My Product Registration appears to target merchants who want granular control over their after-sales customer experience and are willing to invest time in customizing forms and managing registrations. SureBright Product Protection is better suited for merchants seeking a hands-off approach to warranties and insurance, prioritizing ease of setup, profit generation through revenue sharing, and minimizing their direct involvement in claims management. Choosing between the two depends heavily on the merchant's desired level of control and investment in after-sales service management.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking complete control over their after-sales customer experience, including managing product registrations, warranties, and claims directly, My Product Registration is the superior choice. Its customizable form builder and built-in integrations provide the tools needed to build strong customer relationships and manage the entire process in-house. However, for merchants primarily interested in generating revenue through extended warranties and shipping insurance without the operational overhead of managing claims and customer service, SureBright Product Protection is the more compelling option. Its hands-off approach and revenue-sharing model make it an attractive solution for merchants prioritizing ease of use and minimizing their own involvement.
Ultimately, the 'better' app depends entirely on the merchant's specific business needs and desired level of control. If hands-on management and brand control are paramount, My Product Registration wins. If hands-off profit generation and outsourcing risk are the priority, SureBright Product Protection is the clear winner.
