Native Metafields vs Size Chart Pro by eKommissarfor Shopify (2026)
Native Metafields and Size Chart Pro by eKommissar, while sharing the 'Metafields' category on Shopify, address drastically different needs. Native Metafields positions itself as a comprehensive metafield management tool, emphasizing ease of use, bulk editing, and import/export capabilities for *all* metafield types. It aims to simplify the often-complex process of handling metafields directly within the Shopify admin. Its target audience is likely developers, store owners comfortable with backend management, or those who need to manipulate metafields across various product attributes and content types. Size Chart Pro by eKommissar, on the other hand, is highly specialized, focusing specifically on creating and displaying visually appealing size charts. Its core value proposition centers around enhancing the customer experience by providing clear and customizable sizing information. While it utilizes metafields for storing size data, its primary goal is improved product presentation and sales conversions through better fit guidance. The target audience is primarily apparel, shoe, and accessory merchants prioritizing front-end customer experience and reducing returns due to sizing issues.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a comprehensive solution to manage all types of metafields – especially those comfortable working with the backend and needing bulk editing or export capabilities – Native Metafields appears to be the better choice. The 5/5 rating, while based on limited reviews, suggests initial user satisfaction. However, the low review count necessitates caution.
For merchants specifically needing to create and display size charts to improve customer experience and reduce returns, Size Chart Pro by eKommissar is the more appropriate solution. Despite the lack of reviews and rating, its focused feature set directly addresses this specific need. Merchants should proceed cautiously given the absence of social proof and thoroughly test the app before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Size Chart Pro is likely easier to use for its intended purpose (creating size charts) due to its focused feature set. Native Metafields, handling *all* metafields, might have a steeper learning curve.
Can Native Metafields create size charts?
While Native Metafields *could* be used to manage the metafields that *hold* size chart data, it doesn't offer dedicated size chart creation or display features. You would need a separate app or custom code to present the data.
Does Size Chart Pro support importing existing size data?
The provided information does not explicitly state whether Size Chart Pro supports importing existing size data. Further research or contacting the developer would be necessary.
Which app is better for developers?
Native Metafields is likely better suited for developers who need fine-grained control over all metafields and want to manage them programmatically.
If I want to export all my store's metafield data, which app should I use?
Native Metafields is the clear choice, as it explicitly lists 'Import & Export your metafields' as a key feature. Size Chart Pro does not mention this capability.
