Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery vs Payflow: COD & Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods both aim to enhance the Cash on Delivery (COD) experience for Shopify merchants. However, Payflow differentiates itself by offering broader customization of payment and delivery methods, allowing merchants to hide, rename, and reorder options based on various conditions. Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery, while having a slightly higher rating and more reviews, seems to primarily focus on streamlining the COD process itself, specifically aiming to eliminate post-purchase order edits. This difference in scope likely influences the target audience for each app. Payflow targets merchants who want granular control over the entire checkout experience beyond just COD. Its advanced condition tool and native Shopify function integration suggest a more feature-rich solution. In contrast, Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery is geared towards merchants primarily concerned with optimizing the COD flow, eliminating manual edits, and ensuring a smoother fulfillment process specifically for COD orders. Merchants should carefully evaluate their needs to determine which approach aligns best with their store's overall checkout strategy and volume of COD orders.

Our Verdict
For merchants whose primary concern is optimizing the Cash on Delivery process and minimizing post-purchase order edits specifically for COD, Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery appears to be the better choice due to its higher rating and focus on this specific area. However, for merchants who need more comprehensive control over the checkout experience, including the ability to customize payment and delivery options based on specific conditions, Payflow: COD & Payment Methods offers a broader feature set that aligns better with their needs.
Ultimately, the decision depends on the specific needs of the merchant. If COD is a large percentage of sales, and the focus is eliminating friction in that area, Nex Advanced Cash on Delivery is the more focused solution. If COD is just one payment option, and you need more general control over checkout options, Payflow is better suited.
