NoIndexly ‑ Sitemap Manager vs Webrex: SEO Schema & JSON‑LDfor Shopify (2026)
NoIndexly ‑ Sitemap Manager and Webrex: SEO Schema & JSON‑LD are both SEO apps on the Shopify platform, but they address fundamentally different aspects of search engine optimization. NoIndexly focuses on preventing duplicate content issues by managing NoIndex/Nofollow tags, essentially telling search engines which pages *not* to index. Its strength lies in its simplicity and ease of use for merchants needing to control crawling. Webrex, on the other hand, is geared towards improving search visibility and click-through rates through structured data (schema markup). It aims to enhance how search engines understand and present your store's products and content. The primary distinction lies in their objectives: NoIndexly prevents SEO penalties by avoiding duplicate content indexing, while Webrex actively boosts SEO by creating rich snippets and structured data. NoIndexly is likely aimed at merchants who already understand the importance of avoiding duplicate content and need a simple solution to manage NoIndex tags. Webrex is targeted at merchants seeking a more comprehensive SEO strategy that leverages schema markup to improve search engine understanding and drive more organic traffic and higher click-through rates, especially with the rise of AI-driven search.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with basic SEO hygiene and preventing duplicate content penalties with a simple solution, NoIndexly ‑ Sitemap Manager is the more suitable choice. It provides a focused and user-friendly way to manage NoIndex tags. However, for merchants looking for a comprehensive approach to SEO that includes leveraging schema markup, rich snippets, and AI-driven search to improve visibility and click-through rates, Webrex: SEO Schema & JSON‑LD is the stronger option. It offers a broader range of features and integrations to enhance search engine understanding of your store's content.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a store with a large number of duplicate product descriptions?
NoIndexly could be used to noindex duplicate product descriptions if rewriting them isn't feasible in the short term. However, a better long-term strategy would be to use Webrex to optimize the remaining unique product descriptions with schema markup for better visibility and ranking.
Does Webrex handle the technical aspects of adding schema markup for me?
Yes, Webrex automates the process of converting your store's data (products, reviews, FAQs, etc.) into Google-approved schema, simplifying the complex technicalities.
Is NoIndexly necessary if I already have a robust SEO strategy in place?
Potentially. Even with a strong SEO strategy, duplicate content issues can arise. NoIndexly provides a straightforward way to address these issues by controlling which pages are indexed.
Can I use both apps together to maximize my SEO efforts?
Yes, it's possible. NoIndexly can handle duplicate content prevention, while Webrex focuses on enhancing search visibility through schema markup. However, it's crucial to ensure that the two apps don't create conflicting SEO signals.
How difficult is it to set up Webrex: SEO Schema & JSON‑LD?
While the description mentions automatic cleanup, the inherent complexity of schema markup suggests a steeper learning curve compared to NoIndexly's straightforward NoIndex tag management. However, the 217 reviews suggest that the value obtained outweighs the initial difficulty for many merchants.
