NotificationButton vs Notifications by Modd Appsfor Shopify (2026)
NotificationButton and Notifications by Modd Apps, while both falling under the 'Web push' category, target vastly different Shopify merchant needs. NotificationButton focuses primarily on abandoned cart recovery and remembering customer product preferences using AI. Its main strength, theoretically, lies in its simplicity and automation of these core recovery functions, potentially appealing to merchants who want a hands-off solution for lost sales. However, the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating raise serious concerns about its actual performance and reliability. In contrast, Notifications by Modd Apps offers a highly customizable and powerful notification system triggered by any shop event. Its strengths lie in its flexibility, allowing merchants to send custom emails and files based on specific conditions and even update objects within their store. This app is designed for merchants who need advanced control over their communication and store management processes, potentially including complex workflows involving staff, suppliers, and customers. The 5/5 rating with 35 reviews suggests a high level of satisfaction and reliability. Modd Apps appears to be much more oriented towards more advanced merchants.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a simple, hands-off solution for abandoned cart recovery, NotificationButton *might* be appealing in theory. However, the complete lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating make it a significant risk. It's impossible to determine its effectiveness or reliability. I would need to see actual reviews before recommending this.
For merchants needing a powerful and flexible notification system with extensive customization options, Notifications by Modd Apps is the clear choice. The strong rating and positive reviews suggest a reliable and well-supported app. Its ability to trigger notifications based on complex logic and integrate with other systems makes it ideal for businesses with advanced workflows and specific automation needs. This app is probably best for technically proficient merchants or those with developer support.
