Notifications by Modd Apps vs NotifyVisitors : Email & SMSfor Shopify (2026)
Notifications by Modd Apps and NotifyVisitors : Email & SMS represent distinct approaches to Shopify store automation and customer engagement. Notifications by Modd Apps focuses on highly customized, event-triggered notifications and data manipulation within the Shopify store itself. It enables merchants to build complex workflows for internal communication, order management, and customer data enrichment through powerful Liquid templating. It provides integrations via FTP for direct vendor interaction, making it suitable for stores with complex supply chains. Conversely, NotifyVisitors : Email & SMS is a comprehensive marketing automation platform centered on customer communication and list growth. It offers tools for email marketing, SMS marketing, push notifications, and form/popup creation, all aimed at increasing sales and conversion rates. The promise of a drag-and-drop editor suggests easier initial usability than the extensive Liquid-based customization of Modd Apps. The primary difference lies in their core function. Notifications by Modd Apps automates internal processes and data updates, whereas NotifyVisitors aims to enhance marketing and communication with customers. Modd Apps requires technical expertise (or reliance on their responsive support during the trial), given its focus on Liquid and complex logic. NotifyVisitors leans towards simpler, pre-built solutions aimed at marketers who prioritize ease-of-use for campaign management and list building. The absence of reviews for NotifyVisitors makes it difficult to validate its claims of ease of use and expert support, while Modd Apps enjoys a perfect rating, although with a limited number of reviews.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking robust automation and internal workflow management, particularly those involving file transfers to vendors or intricate data manipulation within the Shopify store, Notifications by Modd Apps is the superior choice. The 5-star rating and 35 reviews, while relatively few, lend credibility to its effectiveness, although the reliance on Liquid will be a barrier for some. However, if the primary goal is to grow a marketing list and implement email/SMS campaigns with relative ease, NotifyVisitors : Email & SMS may be more appealing.
However, the complete lack of reviews for NotifyVisitors : Email & SMS in 2026 is a significant red flag. Merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly investigate the app's reputation and capabilities before committing. Given the information available, Notifications by Modd Apps appears to be the safer and more reliable option for merchants who require robust, customizable automation. The risks of trying NotifyVisitors without peer review data outweigh the feature benefits listed.
