NotifyMe ‑ Warnings and Labels and TC Term and Condition Checkbox both address legal requirements on Shopify stores, but they cater to different needs. NotifyMe, with a perfect 5/5 rating based on 17 reviews, positions itself as a broad warning and labeling solution. TC Term and Condition Checkbox focuses specifically on obtaining explicit customer consent for terms and conditions via a mandatory checkbox on the cart or checkout page. TC Term and Condition Checkbox's primary strength lies in its explicit focus on legal compliance regarding terms and conditions, refund policies, and other store policies. It ensures 'Buy It Now' orders are also covered. NotifyMe's strength is unknown but could be assumed as general warning and labeling implementation given its name. TC Term and Condition Checkbox offers detailed logging of consent with timestamps, catering particularly to merchants in highly regulated industries or those prioritizing stringent legal adherence. Our Verdict
For merchants needing a specific solution for obtaining and logging customer consent to terms and conditions, especially those operating in regulated industries or seeking to minimize legal risks related to returns, shipping or age verification, TC Term and Condition Checkbox appears to be the better choice. Its ability to block 'Buy it Now' orders and log consent details provides a robust solution tailored to legal compliance.
However, for merchants needing general warning and labeling across their store, it's not clear from the app listing if NotifyMe will offer what they need, especially since more details are not available. If you only need simple agreement functionality, but trust is vital, the customer should consider that NotifyMe has a much better score rating.
