Nova: GDPR Cookie Consent vs Omnibus Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
Nova: GDPR Cookie Consent and Omnibus Pricing are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Legal,' but they address drastically different needs for Shopify merchants. Nova focuses on enabling merchants to comply with GDPR cookie consent requirements, offering a customizable banner displayed to visitors, primarily those in the EU. Its strength lies in its ease of use, code-free customization, and 24/7 live support, aimed at helping merchants quickly implement a compliant cookie consent solution. Omnibus Pricing, on the other hand, is not described in detail, but its name strongly suggests it handles legal compliance related to pricing transparency, potentially displaying historical pricing data as required by certain regulations like the EU's Omnibus Directive. This suggests a more specialized audience than Nova, targeting merchants who sell to regions with specific pricing display laws.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing GDPR compliance and needing a quick, easy-to-customize cookie consent banner, Nova: GDPR Cookie Consent is the clear choice. Its higher number of reviews suggests broader adoption and a more mature product. However, if a merchant's primary concern is pricing transparency and compliance with regulations like the EU's Omnibus Directive, Omnibus Pricing is likely more relevant, although the limited information makes it difficult to provide a definitive recommendation. Given the disparity in review counts, investigate both apps thoroughly and look for more current user feedback before making a decision. In 2026, updated reviews and features will likely paint a clearer picture of Omnibus Pricing's capabilities.
