Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing speed, ease of use, and basic GDPR compliance with a focus on visual appeal, Nova: GDPR Cookie Consent is the better choice. Its intuitive interface and quick setup will get a cookie banner live quickly. However, for merchants operating in multiple regions, requiring advanced consent management, or prioritizing certified compliance with standards like IAB TCF v2.2 and Google Consent Mode v2, Pandectes GDPR Compliance is the superior option. While potentially requiring more technical expertise, it offers a more robust and comprehensive solution that aligns with complex regulatory environments.
Specifically, if the merchant already uses Shopify's Customer Privacy API, Checkout, and Web Pixel, or plans to, Pandectes' support is a huge advantage. If not, Nova's easy setup may win the day.
